Ken Goodey It's very hard to pick between these two albums, but if you forced my arm up my back I'd probably say that The Locust Years just edges it for me. It came after The August Engine, so you’d possibly expect an improvement of sorts, but there really isn't much in it – I think HOM got their sound and feel pretty much nailed down before putting anything on tape in the studio. That said, after listening to both albums…a lot, I just had to buy something else by this truly magnificent band. Favorite track: Trot Out The Dead.
